Comment: i love xanadu. we watched over and over as kids and roller skated all the time in the early 80's. as for this package...i like the art work (except the slip cover with the sticker that will not peal off), i liked the retrospective, though i was disappointed olivia was not interviewed on it. i ordered this edition for the "complete soundtrack." it said complete so i assumed fool/country would be on it as well as the second duet w\between olivia and gene kelly and maybe even some of the instrumental. it is the same soundtrack that you can but separately.so, it's really not complete. but it was great seeing olivia and xanadu again!

Comment: I love this movie. I am SO GLAD it came with the soundtrack because I had a weird burned version of it from a friend and it was missing some songs. I can't tell you if the quality is any better than VHS, but it looked great on my PS3/Sony Bravia. This movie is cheesy and so much fun. The music, by ELO, captures the era perfectly. I walk around humming Xanadu, Xanadu-u-u....so catchy!

Comment: I remember as a kid singing these songs on the beaches of up north Michigan. The movie is corny but fun flashback on simpler times.
Every song on here is great. I am glad I added it to my collection! The 80's rock!

Summary: I love this movie!
Comment: I am so glad that they finally released this movie on DVD. I used to watch this movie as a teen and loved the romance of it. As an adult, near 40, I still love it just as much. The soundtrack is also fantastic. Olivia Newton John plays a good role in this movie and is absolutely gorgeous. It's a bit cheesy because of the time frame it was made, but overall, it's a good, non-thinking, just want to get lost for a little while, need a break kind of movie. Fairly clean too so the kids can even watch it.

Comment: I remember this movie from my childhood, and it was great! What's better than Olivia Newton-John for a 7-10 year old girl who also loves to skate??
My three daughters have been watching this for the last month from Netflix, and I am going to buy a copy. They are now roller-skating and singing and having a great time, just like I did.
This movie won't solve all of the world's problems, but it is good, CLEAN, fun. No sex, no risque anything, really. A few chaste kisses, one woman in a bikini. Lots of music and dancing.
Goofy, yes. Worthless, no.
Watch it and have fun. Laugh at the special effects. Find a roller rink and take your kids skating. Leave the cellphones at home and have some real fun.

A wimpy remake of an already anemic movie (the 1947 Rita Hayworth vehicle Down to Earth), this glitzy musical from 1980 improbably stars Olivia Newton-John as a heavenly muse sent here to help open a roller-derby disco. Gene Kelly is mixed up in this well-meaning but goofy effort to fuse nostalgia with late-'70s glitter-ball trendiness, and he looks just plain silly. Directed by Robert Greenwald, the film doesn't even work as decent kitsch. --Tom Keogh
