Summary: e7300 vs. e3000: Science Speaks Out (in Haiku!)
Comment: Too many reviews;
I'll do this one in Haiku!
Let's dive into it.

Saw all prior views
of Sonicare customers
Amazon provides.

Key to the debate:
whether cheaper is better,
or price wins the day.

Higher on dollars --
e7300 ("e seventy-three hundred") --
this very brush here.

Then there is this brush (Philips Sonicare Xtreme e3000 Power Toothbrush (Blue))
Cheaper, with features to match
(save only a few).

We bought both brushes,
one each for my wife and me.
Experimented.

Used both Sonicares.
Brushed ev'ry night, she and I.
Same treatment, same care.

Endlessly we sparred.
Three months later, here we are.
One emerged victor.

Three months was too much --
for the cheaper brush was crushed.
Suddenly it died.

No water damage,
no mishandling, no neglect.
It just died -- kaput!

Here is my advice:
for relability
shun the cheaper brush.

Yet consider thus:
THIS costs three times more than THAT.
It should give you pause.

You'll likely agree:
THAT must fail three times 'fore we
declare this the best.

For is this not true:
fail three times before I do
end up losing out?

The price of this, though
more reliable, cannot
beat the other's cost.

Friend, it's up to you.
Buy this or try two of those;
Less than three duds wins!

Summary: Great for Teeth, Not so Great for Hygenity
Comment: We first bought this toothbrush through our dentist and it seemed worth the price tag. Our whole family used the same toothbrush, thanks to the interchangeable heads. At first, the buzzing was VERY strong, which kind of made it funny to watch my sister get the giggles (if you are ticklish, WATCH OUT!) The toothbrush works well and keeps my teeth clean. It has two settings for power and has a sturdy design. But after a while, something gross appeared. Black mold residue stuff appeared where the toothbrush head goes. You can't see it if you never take off the head, but if you are frequently switching heads, it is extremely difficult NOT to notice. The outside part of the toothbrush isn't too difficult, but the inside that you can see when the head of the tootbrush is removed is ridiculous to clean. But, if you can get over your fear of that (it's never hurt me!) then this is a good toothbrush and will keep your chompers squeaky clean!

Summary: Your dental hygienist can tell the difference...
Comment: Upon my dentist's recommendation, I bought a Sonicare toothbrush when I got braces more than 3 years ago. (I'm in my late 20's.) At the time the toothbrush was about $200. This was a lot of money, but I agreed that if I was going to spend $6000 on braces another $200 would be worth it if it meant the fixed teeth wouldn't be cavity ridden when the braces came off. (Braces = A LOT! of nooks for food build up = cavities.)

After I started using the Sonicare, every time I went to the dental hygienist or ortho assistant (and these people were in different offices & rotated, so the original recommending dentist was not getting a kick back) they could definitely tell the difference between my using a Sonicare vs. a regular brush (or a cheap electronic toothbrush knockoff).

I have had my braces off for more than a year (no post-braces cavities), and the dental hygienists still remark on what good health my teeth are in because of the Sonicare toothbrush I use.

Now my entire family uses Sonicare exclusively including my poor starving-student baby brother and my mother who has severe carpotunnel. (She can handle the vibrations about 90% of the time, but the Sonicare is still much easier for her to use than a regular toothbrush--and definitely more effective.)

Consider a Sonicare an investment in your oral health and spend the money! Even if you prevent only one cavity (which going by my family's history, it absolutely does), the Sonicare will pay for itself!

Summary: Great product!
Comment: The Sonicare Elite e7300 power toothbrush is a wonderful product which cleans your teeth extremely well. When we go to the dentist's office for our 6 mo. check ups the hygienest says it's so easy for her to clean our teeth because we use the electric toothbrush. It does the work for you ...no need to scrub your teeth!
