We recently stopped on a dark country road and tested them out. The view was extraordinary; I could see detail that brought the sky to life. One caveat---the weight of the glasses mandates that to get the best results for stargazing you need to steady yourself on a solid object, such as an automobile, building, or tree; it is difficult to hold the glasses still very long without some type of support. Optics good but you have to press your eyes very close to the viewers to see well, and I felt there was not enough of a wide angle to justify the bulk. Spend some more $ if you can do so and invest in about a $250-$400 pair-- I learned the hard way that you get what you pay for--you'll be a lot happier.
