It’s less than two-thirds the size of the original Nintendo DS and more than 20 percent lighter. Its two bright screens can be adjusted to four levels to adapt to different lighting conditions and to extend battery power. The microphone sits in the center of the unit, and the LED lights are clearly visible whether the unit is open or closed. The stylus is 1 centimeter longer and 1 millimeter thicker than the stylus of the original, and slides into a side storage slot. The Start and Select buttons were repositioned for easier access.

Customer Rating: Summary: It's freaking fun! Comment: I bought this for my Mom for Mother's day, but I tested it out first and I know she'd going to love it. She already has a Wii and she loves that. I bought two games and the sound quality is great, the picture is amazing. Just like the Wii, certain games will not allow you to play anymore, which is cool. Nintendo is doing a bang up job with their game stations. I'm getting one for myself and one for my Dad, he needs the Brain Age games.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nintendo DS Comment: The Nintendo DS is the best portable gaming system thus far. Plays both Nintendo DS games as well as the older Nintendo Game Boy Advance games. The touch screen is what makes this a great. Also Nintendo has a large selection of games. Thats always a plus.
Customer Rating: Summary: So pretty! Comment: I love this ... I really wanted a pink one but this was the next best thing. Its look is so classy and it doesn't look like a DS. When not in my game carrying case I keep it in my purse. It catches a lot of attention.
I do not have any technical issues with it at all.
The screen is bright and not dim.
Great game!
Customer Rating: Summary: Repairs and replacement are A+! Comment: I'm sure everyone knows about the DS Lite - it's a great little machine. But with kids using them, they break. Nintendo support has been absolutely great in repairing and replacing my units.
I bought three DS's (one for each kid) and then I bought a fourth so I could keep one for myself. With three young kids, though, one of the units is almost always getting broken or lost (through misue - not through any fault of the manufacturer). With this system, I lend my DS to the child with the broken one and send that one back. Within 2 weeks I get a new one back, and sometimes they don't even charge me, even if it has water inside or was dropped!
They are excellent support people on the phone, they are kind and understanding, and even though my kids pulled the serial number stickers off the back (they won't do it again, but they love to pull off stickers and didn't know how important those particular sticker were), Nintendo replaced my unit for free.
I can't say enough good things about their support.
Customer Rating: Summary: Keeping altzheimers at bay Comment: The mystery and brain teaser games that you can buy for this system are AWESOME. My son and I play the mystry games at night before he goes to bed. Uses our brains, and gives us lots of bonding time! It levels the playing field as well ... he is 11 yrs old, I am NOT, and we are able to both contribute to the correct answers equally.

Lighter, brighter and just as fun as the original Nintendo DS, the Nintendo DS Lite arrives just in time for hungry gamers. It's smaller than the original DS, with brighter screens and adjustable backlighting. The DS Lite sets itself apart from every other hand-held gaming system on the market with a variety of new features. Center microphone Larger stylus for a better grip Easy-to-reach Start and Select buttons Removable cover keeps the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot clear from dust and debris when not in use Color - Onyx Black
