It wont read your old Quickbooks files (can't be used as an upgrade from Quickbooks Basic). Actually I downloaded the free version before I purchased this backup copy and I haven't yet opened the box. Although not as full featured as some might want, it seems perfect for sampling and getting started. This product saved me from another brand of software I was struggling with that had a multitude of problems and problematic support. Although I would like to see a few added features such as graphs and charts for the reports and an on-board calendar, this basic program is very capable and has helped me immensely.
