Summary: Me enamora

Summary: Best Juanes Album so far
Comment: There have been a few reviews already and there seems to be a consensus that this is one if not the best of Juanes. I have to completely agree. I bought the CD as a gift for my wife but we both enjoyed it very much. The songs are well constructed and innovative. Juanes' Columbian roots can be heard through out the album. The songs vary in character from the romantic to the frenetic Latin beat. "Bailala" could well be confused with a Santana arrangement. Other songs carry a more meaningful anti-war message. My favorite song, and I am probably one of the few to enjoy this as much, is "No creo en el Jamas"; it's a song about not giving up on your dreams and goals with a nice modern beat that rivals that of the Killers. As we have been buying fewer and fewer CDs, the experience of hearing an album all the way through has pretty much disappeared from our lives. This is an Album I recommend you hear all the way through if you enjoy a colorful and varied range of beats and melodies.

Summary: Excelente

Summary: Personal & Inspiring
Comment: A beautiful cd from beginning to end. No surprises, the bulletproof classic Juanes sound is served as the main dish, but listen carefully and there's something new brewing. The base and drum for this production are excellent as well. Out of all his CDs I think this is his most personal and romantic.

Summary: Another Solid Album From Juanes
Comment: After listening to this album a couple of times I would say that it is a very solid album. That is why I gave it 4 stars. My only problem is that it sounds so much like Fijate Bien in terms of style of songs that it isn't very original. I think that Un Dia Normal was stronger from beginning to end and I, unlike many others really like Mi Sangre. I am not a native Spanish speaker and Mi Sangre had 3-4 songs that were just so catchy. I think that this album lacks a little top end hit appeal but most songs are very good. I am not the kind of person that normally listens to every song in the album every time I listen to it. Un Dia Normal came as close to me wanting to listen to every song as I have ever been with an album and Mi Sangre had multiple songs that I could not get tired of (Ok La Camisa Negra after about 400 times might get a little old.) I just think that Juanes is at that point in his career where we know what Juanes can do. He is one of the best rockers of all times regardless of language. He is still just human and I just feel like we'll never be pleasantly surprised again because we've seen all of what he has to offer. Fijate Bien was one of the most solid solo debut albums of all times. Un Dia Normal was an artful masterpiece and Mi Sangre took certain songs to new levels in terms of mass appeal (Not saying that Adios Le Pido wasn't a mass appeal hit but it was the only song from that album that I could just hear 5 times in a row and love it and Mi Sangre had 3 songs that I thought were some of my favorite of all time (La Camisa Negra, Nada Valgo Sin Tu Amor and Volverte a Ver.)) I just feel that La Vida Es un Ratico just keeps up with the Juanes Status quo. Solid but it didn't take me to any new level of appreciation for his music.

Editorial Reviews:

La Vida...Es un Ratico (Life is a moment) is the follow up to Juanes' globally multi-platinum release Mi Sangre. In La Vida...Es un Ratico, Juanes once again teams up with co-producer Gustavo Santaolalla, Double-Oscar/Grammy winner. In his first single "Me Enamora," Juanes shows us his intimate personal thoughts on love and relationships. In songs like "Minas Piedras" and Bandera de Manos" he tackles themes of both the hope for peace and social change. With this release, Juanes works to continue to perfect his distinctive fusion of rock with traditional Colombian rhythms and other international styles.
