Summary: A Worse Flaw than the Fit!
Comment: To be honest, for me the fit was a secondary problem. One other person at least mentioned this, but I think the hyper-sensitivity of the switch is a worse problem. Why? Because you can't store the unit anywhere on your person without activating/deactivating the switch. In your pocket? It will activate all the time. A holster, they are all too snug and will push the switch. On your head all day? Well, assuming you could tolerate it you will have to adjust it from time to time, which means touching that darn switch (it covers the entire surface of the unit as it is under the cover). There is no safe place to touch or hold this unit in practical terms without hitting a switch!

As for fit, I found that if you wear glasses the fit is OK (at least for me) if you use your glasses arm to wedge it against your check. All that said; I am desperate for a really great headset that handles wind, noise, fits solidly, uses mini usb plugs (not this non-standard charger) and all the other items that everybody seems to want.

I am going to return the Jawbone 2 (which also had mysterious dead moments anyway) and wait for the Sound ID 300 even though their earlier device didn't get the best reviews. The Motorola 710 sounds practical, but no doubt won't solve the noise/wind problems as I don't think it has DSP. There simply doesn't seem to be a killer unit yet. My Gennum NX6000 had good noise cancellation, but fell off all the time and they aren't even in the business anymore. This is depressing, but the Jawbone 2 (made in China, by the way, for folks who care about country of origin) won't make you feel better, I'm afraid. It certainly didn't brighten my day.

Summary: Don't buy it. Hard to use, doesn't work
Comment: No matter how I tried to position it, even with the headset touching my cheek (as required), people could not understand what I am saying. Feedback was that it sounded muddy. I returned it.

Summary: A step down from Jawbone I
Comment: When I lost my original Jawbone I (Aliph Jawbone Noise Shield Bluetooth Headset (Black)), I bought the Jawbone II as a replacement, and I'm disappointed. Here's how they compare:

Noise reduction:
With the Jawbone I, the other party didn't hear any background noise, even when I tested the limits by blasting my stereo at max volume. With the Jawbone II, the other party heard all the noise, and said there was "only a small difference" when the noise reduction was turned "on" vs. "off".

Battery life:
Definitely the Jawbone II is worse. Their customer support said:"On the original jawbone the talk time is 6hrs and on the new jawbone its 4hrs." But I think the difference is larger than that.

Fit:
The Jawbone II is more comfortable, but is harder to keep in place.

Usability:
The Jawbone II has such a sensitive button that whenever you try to adjust the fit, you'll accidentally hang up your phone call.
The Jawbone II does have a more usable power adaptor connector.

Summary: The original Jawbone is better and cheaper.

Summary: consumer
Comment: this propduct is not as good that they tell you, over all it is a poor product with good design.

Summary: looks great, hard to use
Comment: The sound quality and the comfort level was great, but I ended up exchanging it with the Plantronic Discovery 925. The problem with the Jawbone is that in trying to make it look super cool, the functionality really suffered. Because of the "hidden" button design, I could never quite tell where to push to activate it! I would also inadvertently turn it off while trying to reposition or place it in my ear. So, as much as I enjoyed it's sound quality, I could not use it. The Plantronics on the other hand is extremely easy to use, comfortable, and the sound quality is very good.

Editorial Reviews:

Setting new standards for mobile voice clarity and personal style, the new Jawbone Bluetooth headset by Aliph represents a complete departure from the gadgetry of the mobile headset industry. Originally developed for military use in extreme environments, Jawbone features NoiseAssassin--a proprietary technology that eliminates background noise from mobile phone conversations. Jawbone is the only Bluetooth headset with a Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) that actually feels your speech, which helps Jawbone distinguish your voice from background noise.

The new Jawbone in black.
Widely recognized as the best Bluetooth headset on the market, the new Jawbone is 50 percent smaller than the original, award-winning Jawbone, offer over 4 hours of talk time, and comes with three earbuds and four earloops for a comfortable and personalized fit.

Military-Grade NoiseAssassin Technology
Developed over years of research for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Jawbone's NoiseAssassin eliminates real world noise better than competing headset because it's the only hands free device that accurately separates human speech from ambient noise. Unmatched in its ability to remove noise from loud environments like busy streets, cars, crowded cafes, and airports, NoiseAssassin is comprised of two features unique to Jawbone: a patented Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) and proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms. Jawbone is the only Bluetooth headset with a VAS that feels the speech vibrations from your jaw. This enables Jawbone to capture the distinct frequencies of your voice. Proprietary DSP algorithms work in concert with two powerful microphones and the VAS to accurately model surrounding noise and aggressively eliminate it from the conversation.

Conventional "noise suppression" headsets do not have a Voice Activity Sensor and can only estimate when speech is occurring. This causes performance issues like voice distortion, especially in the presence background noise.

Not Just a Headset, It's Earwear
Made with premium materials like medical-grade plastic and fine leather, the new Jawbone with NoiseAssassin combines science and beauty in the most unassuming, yet richly detailed product. Every effort has been made to contain best in class noise suppression technology in a miniature form that is 50 percent smaller than the original, award-winning Jawbone.

The new Jawbone accomplishes a clean and sophisticated look thanks to invisible buttons. Touch-surface technology allows the user to operate switches by lightly pressing the outer shield. Curved and rectilinear to follow the face, the outer shield is lightly textured and inspired by three-dimensional noise abatement surfaces. The infer surface, the one touching your face and creating contact with the Voice Activity Sensor, is gently curved to be ergonomic and comfortable on your skin.

Offering a comfortable and personalized fit, the new Jawbone comes with three sizes of earbuds and four earloops--two sizes of leather and two of slim, which are ideal for use with eyeglasses. Jawbone can also be worn on either ear and with or without an earloop.
